Here's the tour to Edinburgh, with many pictures:
I had the luck to "Wake up with words" this Saturday, as part of the Book Festival - fresh Croissants and coffee was served, and great Scottish lyrics recited by Robert Crawford and Michael Symmons Roberts
It took part in the real "Spiegeltent"!
Afterwards Alex Garland waited, the author of "The Beach", and the screenplay for "28 Days Later" which I prefer
The Spiegeltent from the outside
Last but not least, unforgetable: the Edinburgh International Film Festival!
One of the big hits (three extra screenings!) was 'Coffee and Cigarettes', with Bill Murray and many more
(a quick view to a place in Edinburgh which isn't as polished - just below South Bridge)
The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra playing Bartók's "Divertimento", "Piano Concerto No 3" and "Bluebeard ’s Castle" in the Usher Hall
Amos Oz at the Book Festival - with mostly political discussions
Another 'Imprisoned Writes'- series
A nice market for homemade wooden stamps, dolphins and more
Ouch!
"Purple Butterfly" was screened in the Cameo cinema
During daylight: the Summer School in Neuroinformatics, with many intersting talks!
It took place in a special building...
One highlight of the Film Festival: a live event with the Polish composer Zbigniew Preisner! It was great to hear some background of the incredible music (in blue)
A typical gesture...
The night ended with some nice Jazz
Andre enjoyed it too - he was visiting me for a week
