Hinnerk's journey to Great Britain

Here's the tour to Edinburgh, with many pictures:

Aberdeenshire

After a nice breakfast in the Aberdeen youth hostel I went out to the 'old town', which is some miles outside of the city centre. Formerly it was a own village where the University was build - nowadays it kinda integrated... and still very beautiful!

On the way... I kept straigt

Here I am

Kings College Chapel - easily recognizeable by the crown on top of the tower

In German: "Kindergarten Schaukelpferd" ;)

Student Dental Service

St Machar's Cathedral

It is one of the rare example of a fortified cathedral

The station, where I didn't take a train but a bus to Stonehaven

My route on this day

On the way - the bus took a wonderful route along the coast

A small church in Stonehaven

I went a nice walk over the cliffs to go to Dunnottar Castle

A World War I and II memorial

The castle is over there

(luckily it wasn't aggressive)

A fine place for a castle, isn't it? There is only one entry (at the lower left)

The blacksmith

I wanted to get a hot chocolate over here

Unfortunately it was closed :(

The sea gulls wanted to get some of my fish and chips

The way southwards...
